Overview
Purpose
Casualties Union exists to provide trained casualties that can convincingly portray injuries and medical conditions, respond realistically to treatment and give constructive feedback for training purposes.
Members undertake structured training encompassing acting, make-up and staging skills. This enables us to simulate realistic injuries and medical conditions, to react correctly to how we handled and treated and to provide feedback to those who handle us and to their trainers. This is where lessons are learned.
Our members are all shapes, sizes and ages with proven skills in realistic wound simulation. But it's not just about injuries. We also regularly take part in exercises where we are called upon to simulate a wide range of situations including: confused, agitated, lost, unconcious, pregnant, trapped, unco-operative, disruptive, special needs, upset, bystander and deceased!
Clientele
Our services are regularly employed by healthcare professionals: doctors, nurses, paramedics, ambulance technicians; the military; first aiders from voluntary organisations such as St. John Ambulance, Red Cross, Scouts; and large companies. An increasing element of our work now includes multi-agency training exercises in response to terrorist attacks.
Locations
We have provided casualties in a wide variety of locations: hospitals, airports, train stations, ships, railway lines, motorways, motor racing circuits, holiday resorts, collapsed buildings, "hurricane-damaged islands", "beseiged countries", temporary mortuaries...
Whatever your scenario, we can provide appropriate casualties.
