Exercise Mallard Lancashire Fire and Resue Service

Carnforth Railway Sidings Lancashire. Saturday 1st March. Train Crashes into Bus.
20 members of Casualties Union and a group of fire fighting students. Put on make up to portray major traumatic multiple injuries and put themselves into the hands of the Emergency Services.
A joint exercise took place to test the Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service, the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) and the RNLI. Testing their response to a multiple casualty major incident in a difficult location. Members of Casualties union came together from all around the North West to provide the realistic element to the event where they used their make up and acting skills to add the realism to the event and gave the rescue services a training solution unsurpassed by weighted dummies and manikins.
The use of real people portraying casualties gives any training the edge. When people act and react to treatment, the whole scenario comes to life and this is where the dedicated members of Casualties Union excel.
