Sunday 25 March  2012

Eleanor, Adam, Martin and Rodney headed to Camberley Fire Station. We had been invited to attend the Surrey Safety Awareness Scheme.  The scheme is to make young people from the community aware of the dangers of the roads and driving.

Just before lunch the youngsters watch a DVD of a car / van / motorbike accident, then  after lunch they came out side to watch a recreation of the accident they had seen on the DVD, and how the emergency services work efficiently together, some of the youngsters were invited to help. We supplied three casualties with injures. One of the paramedics remarked the casualties played their parts brilliantly and the make up and acting was very realistic.

Two of the young people that took part in the day actually fainted as a result of what they witnessed.
