All our members are volunteers, giving our spare time to training and practising our ‘art’ and administering our local, regional and central management. Many of us are first aiders and some are medical professionals. What we have in common is the conviction that rescue, first aid and medical training is improved by having casualties and patients who look and behave as realistically as possible. Our ages currently range from 11 to 95 and a few of our senior members have been with us for more than 60 years.
This common interest creates life-long friendships which flourish when members from all over the country, and overseas, meet up at our annual International Training Weekend, where we attend workshops and illustrated talks to enhance our knowledge and skill. When it’s time to relax we simply enjoy the company of our colleagues and have fun.
